Absolute path of shared folder

  • Hi all,
I'm new to Ugreen - transitioning from QNAP and I love the polished user interface.
Still need to familiarize myself with the way Ugreen OS works, and I have a rather urgent need to find the absolute path to the shared folder.

My UGreen NAS' shared folder is visible on the network, so accessing it from a PC is not the issue.

The issue is that I have a HP scanner that allows me to scan to a network path and for this purpose I would like to scan to a shared folder created under Ugreen NAS shared files as NAS-Share\HP_Scan (see screen shot below)
My NAS has a fixed IP and I've tried accessing through the fixed IP address with: \\192.168.1.XXX\NAS-Share\HP_Scan with my UGreen NAS login credentials (set in the printer), however the printer won't connect to the folder and thus can't deliver a scan to it.
    What am I missing? :/

  • Try NAS-IP\volume1\HP_Scan

    *or designated volume number

  • Sorry for non-german post. did you try right clicking the folder and look at properties . There you have the absolute path under location.

  • Hi CoolKDK, welcome to the UGreen community.

I think the problem is not the NAS, but Windows. When trying to add a new network share in the Explorer, you're only able to add the Shared folder. So, this means, \\192.168.1.XXX\NAS-Share can be added, but \\192.168.1.XXX\NAS-Share\HP_Scan can not be added.

So, maybe you need to make an own share for you Scans.

  • Thanks,
The scanner seems to use SMB1.
Absolute path turns out to be: \\NAS-IP\NAS-Share\HP_Scan

-The volume name is not included in the path.

Thanks for the quick support!
...now what is my risk using SMB1?
